Core Strategy Consultation
The council’s Wiltshire Core Strategy is a document which sets out long term planning and development aims and principles for the county. There is an opportunity for local people to have their say on the plans which would make communities strong and sustainable, by ensuring jobs, services and homes are developed in a balanced way. The consultation document is subject to an additional round of consultation until 8th August 2011.
There will eventually be 19 topic papers that will form part of the evidence base to support the emerging Wiltshire Core Strategy, Topic Paper 1 relates to climate change and can be viewed at: http://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/planninganddevelopment/planningpolicy/wiltshirecorestrategy/wcsconsult2011.htm along with the other topic papers.
Several exhibitions have been organised across the county and the consultation document can be viewed online, or in person at several council offices across the county, details are available at: http://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/latestnews.htm?aid=117848
There are also background documents and studies which may be of interest, in particular the ‘Wiltshire Sustainable Energy Planning Study’ which looks at the Wiltshire’s potential for renewable energy: http://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/planninganddevelopment/planningpolicy/planningpolicyevidencebase.htm
