Could you be a compost ambassador?

30•05•2008

Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, in association with WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme), CRED (Community Recycling and Economic Development Programme) and the Wiltshire Waste Partnership, are seeking to recruit more volunteers to join the growing ranks of Wiltshire’s compost ambassadors.

contact Sara Cundy on sarac@wiltshirewildlife.org

Volunteers should have an interest in the environment, and may enjoy gardening, but do not need any experience in composting. Full training will be given, to include a one-day course and a visit to the Hills Waste landfill and recycling centre at Compton Bassett. There are many different ways for a Compost Ambassador to get involved. Examples include attending events with a display, handing out leaflets to friends, neighbours and community clubs, writing articles in local press and/or giving talks to small groups. It all depends on the personal interests of the volunteer.

If you have a genuine interest in joining this scheme and would like further details please contact: Camilla Timms, Waste Volunteer Officer at the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, tel (01380) 725670, email compost@wiltshirewildlife.org.
