Bradford on Avon's 2050 declaration

03•01•2010

News submitted by by Rowena Quantrill for the Climate Friendly Bradford group

Saturday, Dec 12th saw 130 people being the first signatories for the 2050 Declaration - our local Carbon Reduction campaign that sets the aim of Bradford on Avon and surrounding villages becoming carbon neutral by 2050.  A huge success, with the Town Council, Chamber of Commerce, lots of other organisations and businesses  all signing up along with lots of individuals + the local candidates for the three main political parties signing to support. But this does put our group in the limelight and it is important that we try and boost the number of people signing the Declaration so that we have numbers behind our ideas and enthusiasm.  If you have not yet done so, please ensure you take 5 minutes off to sign on-line

If all of our local members and supporters sign we can reach the 500 signature level by early 2010.   Please also talk to neighbours and friends and encourage them to sign.  If we all can recruit two people to sign we can reach and overtake the 1,000 signature level  - a real milestone in ensuring the Declaration and our work is heard locally.
