Countdown to Low Carbon Homes

Countdown to Low Carbon Homes

Wiltshire Council and Severn Wye Energy Agency are developing an impartial ‘one stop shop’ green refurbishment service. Called Countdown to Low Carbon Homes, this service will take the uncertainty and hassle out of making homes more energy efficient by providing impartial advice and help at every stage of the process. The service provides:

- the initial energy survey
- an action plan for the work
- a list of locally accredited installers
- guidance on the financial options available
- ongoing support after the work is complete to ensure the work delivers the anticipated savings.

How can your community group help?

As part of the research we are looking to work with households who are either seriously thinking of making their home energy efficient over the next 18 months, or have recently made improvements to their home.   There will be NO CHARGE in participating in the research.

More information for those households that are thinking about making their homes efficient here.

Please help us spread the word!

This is a research project and participating households will play a key role in developing the service. The aim is to get a wide range of property and household types to take part in this research in order to make Countdown for Low Carbon Homes a service that’s accessible to households across Wiltshire. Listed buildings are eligible, and people on lower incomes are also encouraged to apply as we aim to develop finance packages to meet different needs. There is no charge for participating in the research. The benefits for participating households are a free home energy survey, an energy meter and regular one to one support and advice to ensure any investment made, or that has been made to the property are the most cost effective and efficient. Please note the capital for any measures will not be funded by the research project.
